Rule In Rule Out: join Rational Rec artists in a conversation about your collaborations

Tuesday 3 August, 7.30pm
The Woodmill, Neckinger Depot, Neckinger, London SE16 3QN

As a part of their ongoing research into collaboration, Rational Rec commissioned artists Paul B. Davis, Charlie Fox and Emma Hart are gathering information on the practicalities and techniques on collaboration from across the art world. They would like to hear from you to help them devise new rules for possible publication and add to the debate surrounding collaborative practices in the arts.

The artists will test, follow or break all of the rules provided and invite participants at the panel event to suggest more rules and improvements; practical rules to help them collaborate. The results will directly inform a 'book of rules' in development as a part of the commission.

Joining the artists on the panel will be Andrew Cooper.  Cooper is an artist interested in the language and hierarchy that create the social dimension of art.  Past projects include 'The Muttering Cavern of Domestic Delights' at Five Years Gallery.  He also started the Communist Gallery in collaboration with other artists, and initiated the Portman Gallery with Dean Kenning, a contemporary art gallery which exists within the grounds of a state secondary school.  He also has 19 years experience of working part time at Morpeth School as an art teacher.
